"your portrait was fourth drawn but finalized later. as i think i said, its my favorite pose out of any of them—the tilt gives it so much life and motion, and coupled with the silliness of the double phone getup it's indeed very 'jony'. your head also used to be 2-wide and was trimmed down for clarity, but i specifically kept it a little messier. the hair was a struggle, and i cant help but think that it doesnt quite *look* like you somehow even though art that does has a similar look. again, it might just be the lack of a ponytail, but idk you kinda look like that guy from clarence and for that i am terribly sorry. your jacket also kinda looks like shit. thats half monkey and half 'uh oh theres supposed to be a collar how the fuck do i do a collar uhh it's a different thing now sure'. at the very least your left hand is amazing."[5]

"your portrait was the seventh or possibly sixth drawn. i totally just copied your pfp similar to octa's, but i think i did a pretty damn good job at doing so. your features all match up well (minus the scarf, that would've complicated things and required more space than i had) and the pose is of course very dynamic as a result. the only thing that gave me much trouble was the face: the nose was monkey'd in early, and i spent a long time trying to fit a sort of contemplative, skinner-being-asked-may-i-see-it expression that i thought would fit very well. after fiddling for a long time trying to get that sort of looking-away look, especially given the nonexistent space on the left half of your face, i stumbled into a more smug one and decided i would cut my losses. i'm disappointed but still quite proud of how it all ended up, probably my second favorite of the bunch."[6]

"your portrait was eighth completed. originally i was going to deliberately make yours very rigid to lean into the pixel art aspect and your android self, but that meant the monkey couldnt draw random shapes and thus the process would have to be much harder. i kept some of that in your eyes and the shape of the mask, but otherwise scrapped it in favor of basing you off of wells' portrait from a while ago—hence the scarf. hence the hair, too, which came out really well i think. the hard part were the ears, as stated, as well as the lemniscate just because it was hard to get it to have the right weight and sketchiness level. the phone was kinda just slapped on but the wells method made it so i could very conveniently not draw an arm for you and im just not gonna think about that further. also, i didnt say this in octa's, but i was quite displeased to realize how similar yours looked, to the point of switching the side her phone was on and trying my damnedest to not put you two next to each other in the brady bunch spread. oh also also your face was originally going to be filled with just the mask part empty before realized that was antithetical to every other decision i had made prior."[7]

"your portrait was the sixth or maybe seventh completed. it was the first that i drew with an actual mouse instead of just using my trackpad, making the curves a *lot* less painful and overall smoother. i knew i wanted yours to be very dynamic and filled-in as opposed to linework, so the head was pretty smooth sailing. then i had the idea to use a spare phone sprite (from a scrapped idea for the previous portrait) in it, and once i saw the two together the monkey rang its bell and that was that. some may call it lazy or unfinished, but i genuinely saw it as cool and stark and iconic and minimalist. my graphic designy brain loves that shit and its probably my favorite of all of the portraits, so hopefully you don't mind the risk i took. probably shouldve removed that one weird pixel in retrospect but whatever."[8]

"your portrait was the third completed. originally i think your head was bigger and 2-thick (as was mine originally) but i scaled it down so that your hair could have more definition. i think i did an ok job on it, especially considering one of the more important hills is cut off by the edge of the circle. for the laptop i just duped what i made for gui's and flipped it (in retrospect theres a pixel missing because of that), and for the body i just kinda scribbled until the monkey brain said 'yeap, i like that, its a mess, ship it' which was a common occurrence for these portraits. the arms were very easy, thankfully, especially for the hand; i think this was the one that solidified that everyone would have a phone. i also made sure there were a couple pixels of hood back there because i knew you'd correct me if there werent."[9]

"your portrait was the second drawn. as stated, you are represented in your fullest-envisioned witscord weekly form. obviously you would be on your laptop based on your connective status, and since you're small, i thought it would be funny if your entire front half was just entirely submerged behind it and the phone was just lying there (i believe that part was added after i realized every portrait should have a phone). as for the actual art you originally had a full body with some real sketchy lookin eyes (little space) and then there was a lot of blind-faith deleting i had to do to make the layering work out, not to mention a lot of tweaking to the shape of the back half to get it to look right with the angle."[10]

"yours was fifth drawn and completed later. this was the one i was referring to in machka's, because the original idea was to have it be two phones feeding into each other or maybe even duct taped together. i couldnt really get that to work, but when i scrapped it i still had two great phone sprites. i used his (flipped) as yours and saved the other one (rotated) for later, hence why i think his was actually seventh despite being in my sixth slot. the conceit for yours after that was always just to have a pair of glasses, partially because of your general air of "cool" and "mysterious" and "doesnt have a persona" persona and partially because my witscord weekly representation of you could not possibly end up looking like anything other than either cgp grey or a countryball. thus, i stuck with ominous glasses lurking in the dark, with some pupils added later and a couple different revisions of the parts that go over your ears; i debated either switching them to the other angle or making it ambiguous, but although a low-angle interpretation looks sick and dynamic, it again just makes the circle look like a countryball. oh, and then yeah, when i came up with the idea to use that one for machka's i flipped them around and did some rotations of some kind, i dont remember. i think the horizontality adds to the mysterium."[11]

"first drawn miraculously perfect circle head originally 2 wide trimmed semi-neatly classic if repetitive face originally also 2 wide also trimmed proud of suit though totally monkeyed pose good blend of iconic and dynamic general phone fact they were drawn normal then slices separated for fingers hence no extension beyond phone also spurred black outlines rule oh and similar to lav almost inverted then said fuck that keep it open did that proud of it simple but effective not bad overall maybe better framing"[12]

"your portrait was the last completed but was started and scrapped well before that. it's probably the one im least proud of—your pose is pretty much just a 1:1 of your pfp (not as dynamic as the others) and i think the scaling shouldve been bigger so you filled more of the frame. i really wanted to make it look good (i am biased) but i struggled a lot with the hair and general shape of your head and phone and arm pose. and also the ears, all three pairs of those were rough. but mostly the hair. i wish i could have shown the hair in back to pretty much any extent but that just wasnt gonna happen, and the phone covered up what detail i *could* get on the side. im pretty happy with the top section (the way the ears are positioned, the bump in between, the stray section on your forehead, etc) but the rest is kinda just the closest i could get it while looking at a reference. also your eyes were a nightmare. big pupils just look soulless in 1bit, and i wanted them to look to your left to eke out just a little bit of dynamics in the pose. i think they look a little too sassy."[13]
