This Article is an article on Witscopedia created by TheFullestCircle on July 7th, 2024. It is notable in that it describes itself, and has seemingly no other reason to exist, which fits with Fullest's absurdist style of humor. It can be found here.
History of This Article
July 7th, 2024: This Article was created. It originally contained nothing but the above paragraph, which included the sentence "it can be found here", with "here" linking back to the article itself. It was soon discovered that trying to do that actually just bolds the word you tried to link, which ruined the joke; as such, that sentence was removed in the same update that added the History of This Article section, which happened on the same day.
A short while later,[when?] Fullest linked this article in casual-two, prompting outside investigation. TheJonyMyster reviewed the article and discovered a workaround to the linking issue, and subsequently updated the page to re-include the "it can be found here" joke, using an external link, not beholden to MediaWiki's emboldening, as well as this additional paragraph.
July 16th: This Article was promoted.
Mere seconds after editing This Article, user Octavia edited This Article to describe her editing in the promotion of This Article.
September 13th: After a period of inactivity, Fullest made a minor edit to This Article (adding this sentence) to make sure he had edit permissions after the whole thing that happened.
September 15th: After noticing the existence of This Article, Staz edited it to add a link to The Event at the end of Fullest's previous edit on September 13th. Staz then subsequently edited This Article to include this paragraph.
February 27, 2025: Sus stumbled upon this article while hoping to end up at his own through the "Random page" button. He then added this anecdote to the article on a whim, including this dependent clause.
July 6th, 2025: In order to test the then-new Witscopedia (channel), Fullest edited This Article, adding an entry to the History of This Article section describing how he edited This Article to test the then-new Witscopedia (channel).
April 4th, 2026: Apia added the "This Article" image to This Article. It went through several revisions before stabilising. Apia wonders how everyone else does this kind of thing in only one image upload.
April 5th, 2026: Apia added this and the previous entry, and updated the "This Article" image accordingly.
April 6th, 2026: Staz visited This Article after noticing via a Witscopedia (channel) notification that it had been updated. After reviewing the update, he fixed an apparent typo introduced by Apia during the previous edit, which Staz fixed before adding this entry to the History of This Article section of This Article.
Criticisms
Following a string of edits in April 2026, TheJonyMyster expressed concerns that This Article was, in rigorously documenting its history, forgoing its original purpose. Specifically she posited that "the self describing article runs the risk of becoming an ever-growing guest book if we cant [sic] find some way to compress its contents ... Surely there are other things to discuss in the article anyway".[1] This claim was met with disagreement from Staz, who defended that This Article "warrants the inclusion of every minor edit".[2]
